Board Celebrates Jewish American Heritage Month

The Westchester County Board of Legislators celebrated Jewish American Heritage Month on Monday evening with a ceremony honoring two community leaders: Westchester Jewish Council, a nonprofit that serves the County’s more than 130,000 Jewish residents by connecting hundreds of affiliated organizations, and Suzi Oppenheimer, former State Senator, Mayor of Mamaroneck, and champion for education reform and environmental stewardship.

Board Delivers Funding to Veterans Support Organization My Brother Vinny

Westchester County Board of Legislators Chairman Vedat Gashi (D–New Castle, Ossining, Somers, Yorktown) and Legislator Colin D. Smith (D–Cortlandt, Peekskill, Yorktown) presented a $15,450 ceremonial check to My Brother Vinny, Inc. on Tuesday. The Yorktown-based nonprofit organization provides furniture, housewares, and home goods—free of charge—to formerly homeless U.S. veterans in New York State.
