Westchester County Board of Legislators

The Westchester County Board of Legislators today approved a significant investment in higher education, adopting the SUNY Westchester Community College (WCC) 2026–2027 budget, which includes $156.8 million in total funding to sustain student services, academic offerings, and campus facilities.

Last night, the Westchester County Board of Legislators unanimously voted to pass a bill banning the sale of e-cigarettes and vaping products made to resemble everyday items such as school supplies, smartphone cases, toys, and drink containers. Everyday items on a table, including vape devices disguised as common objects beside chargers and school supplies.

The Board of Legislators’ new Affordability and Economic Development Task Force held its first meeting Thursday, bringing together leaders from a broad range of sectors to tackle financial pressures straining Westchester residents and businesses.
